ADUKE

Come Aduke
let us walk into the forest,
away from the piercing eyes of Iya-Agba.
Let us lay under the starry sky,
let the trees watch as hearts are knit.
Let me bury the pains of your heart
in the depthless pit of my soul,
Where love is endless,
strife is brief.
Come, lay on my bossom,
listen to the rhythm of my steady heartbeat,
Tilt your head towards my stomach
hear the butterfly hum your name
Aduke.
